It is reported from Nanking that student of the Imperial Academy (Chien Sheng) named Tai Ming-tze, who is native of 'Tsoyusnbsien, (in taian prefecture) Kiangsa, has been deprived of his rank and sentenced to ie} years' imprisonment by ord than clerkships in the I. M. C., so that the Chinese Government have a sufficient number of experienced Chinese at its disposal after the restoration of the administration, that is to say, when the customs loans have been completely repaid to the British and other foreign lenders.
