Plan to Eliminate Export in Ten Years London, June 11.
The India Office announces that} the Government of India have decid. ed to fix 10 years as the period in which the export of opium from India other than for strictly medical purposes will be progressively and finally extinguished. Accordingly, a ten per cent. reduction of such exports will be effected in 1927 and thus the last export, will occur in 1935. During this period the exports will be under' a system of direct sale to the Government of the importing countries—Reuter.
