We understand that better counsels prevailed regarding the repaid of forward contracts for goods, and the members of the Chinese Chambers of Commerce have decided to await the tarn of events before finally deciding upon the matter. In this connexion, we regret that our statements about this matter yesterday have been misunderstood in certain quarters. In order to make the position clear, we must state that our aim has been to show that such a repndistion by the Chinese desiers would be absolutely unjustiiable.
