Other resolutions taken at the meeting were:—
That Mr. Shih Chen-tin be appointed Acting Chairman of the Shantung Provincial Government, pending the assumption of office by General Sun Liang-chen as Chairman; and 'That the abolition of all illegal and exorbitant taxes fu Shantung, as recommended by Mr. Ting Wei feng, be proclaimed accordingly Kuo' Wen, Exciting Scene at a Council Meeting Tankow, May 23.
The notorious General Chen-chien, of Nanking: infamy, has been placed under arrest by order of General Chung-jen, leader of the Kuangsi party here.
