Anti-Opium Campaign The International Anti-Opium Association of China (Shanghai

Branch) has sent a telegram to Dr. V. K. Wellington Koo, to forward to the Chinese delegate of the Opium Committee, League of Geneva, stating that the Shanghai Association, at its annual meeting, unanimously agreed that China's greatest protection from the opium and drag evil which is now threatening the lives of millions in China is for the delegate to obtain modifications of the existing laws in all countries which allow trading in opium and the manufacture of morphia destined for illegitimate use in unlimited quantities. Foreign countries, the cable states, must be made to live up to the Hague Convention to which they are signatories.
