In spite of the efforts of Mr. Fan Yuan-lien, ex-Minister of Education, to bring about a compromise in the educational dispute, satisfactory both to the Government and the teachers, there are still many obstacles to the conclusion of settlement. The Government is pinning its faith to Mr. Tsai Yuan-pei, the Chancellor of Peking University, who is due shortly in Japan on his way back to China from his visit to France and America. It is believed that when he arrives in the capital he will soon find a way to put an end to the dispute.—Reuter.
