The first World Engineering Conference will be held in Japan some time in 1929, Tt will have the aupport of the Japanese Government and of foreign governments and will be held under the auspices of the Engineering Society of Japan.
Baron Shiba, who is a member of the Japanese House of Peers, recent~ ly made tour of Europe and of North and South America in connexion with convening a world engineering conference and declares that hie proposila in regard to auch 'a conference met with grea iasm everywhere.
United States, he said, he spoke about the matter to Mr. Herbert Hoover who consented to be chairman of the American committee which will have charge of electing the delegates to come to Tokyo. In England and in continent too, according to him, interest was evinced in his proposal and noted European engineering firms have decided to send some of their best experts to the conference.
