Japan to Withdraw from Geneva

Promise of Scrupulous Observance of Washington and London Treaties ig authori Japan has decided to secede from the League of Nations if the ively indicated (slates Reuter from Tokyo) Assembly adopts the recommendations made by the Committee of Nineteen, However, up to the present, an official statement is unobtainable.

Both the War Office and the Navy Office have indicated that the chief Japanese military and naval delegates will be withdrawn from the Disarmament Conference when Japan secedes from the League, as the atmosphere at Geneva is at present considered too hostile to Japan to warrant maining, However, it is added, some junior officers probably will be retained as observers.

Though withdrawal from the Disarmament Conference is thus envisaged, it is emphasised that Japan will continue scrupulously to observe the Washington and London agreements.
