To the Editor of the Nowri-Cuna Datty News"
Si—Your sports readers will be interested, and probably as disgusted T was, to hear of the exploits of two "foreign sportsmen among the snipe at Hangchow during the [Easter holidays, These two braves were seen on the Fyuchang marsh with pheasants in their bag and, when chaffed about shooting pheasants out of season, excused themselves by stating. that they were "only shooting cocks because there are too many in any ease" or words to that effect, Tt was later found that their bag Jcontained two hen pheasants as well fas two cocks!
"Beyond publishing the above Me formation it would seem too feeble to comment thereon. No words or expression could adequately describe Jone''s opinion of this action, 'Your readers will, I'm sure, become leven more chagrined when they hear that, on the day of the above de~ scribed slaughter, two pheasants' nests containing eggs were found in the helghbourhood, on the marsh, "A fine example to the local inhabltants (and there are numbers of pro-Hesslonal hunters in the district) and a wonderful display of real keen ting spirit!
"My congratulations to them! I hope they found the birds good eating, Jespecially the hens, and I hope also that they remembered the two Jelutches of eggs they probably de-[stroyed when they Killed then. H, G. Ropinsox.
