Far-reaching changes in France Code Napoleon are embodied in the conclusions reached by the codification committee appointed three which has just completed snd has recommended the abandonment of no fewer than 145 articles of the Napoleonic Code.
The most significant reform is. the abolition of the Bagno system sorting criminals for life to. the penal settlement in Cayennes, im: Drisonment up to a maximum of 20 prison the colonies instead of in France. The penal settlements as such, however, fare to cease to exist.
