BERLIN BOURSE

Berlin, July 28.

The share market to-day was in a more friendly mood than for some days past, many prices being somewhat firmer while several special shares even advanced notably. The actual turnover was however very small. The public held aloof out of regard for reports of the disturbances in the Far East while operators who had unloaded stock earlier in the week remained passive and in all events no longer exercised a pressure on the prices. Shares offered by holders desirous of obtaining funds for the monthly settlement found ready buyers and hence did not longer burden the market. Considerable discussion took place about the measures the German Government had been obliged to adopt to safeguard the nation's bread supply owing to unfavourable harvest prospects, The prompt action by the Reichs Government had the effect of strengthening confidence. The fact that the Reich revenue continues to show an increase also produced a very favourable impression. Minings were well maintained, electrics lower, cellulose shares firmer.

The fixed interest securities market remained friendly. Reichs Old Liquidation Loan reached a new high at 197, advancing %. Hassel City Loan was ¥% higher. Duisburg 1⁄4 better. Gold mortgage bonds and communal bonds were eagerly sought buf the prices being already on a very high level showed little disposition to advance. Harpener Mining Bonds declined % to 13294.
