It is mow recognized by the upcountry dealers that replacement] prices for artificial silk yarn are far higher than market values here and raise prices all round on 150 deniers} and the coarser counts. There is, however, still a big difference in values, and operators cannot sell at} present exchange except at very heavy losses. There have been some small purchases which are purely] speculative as there is practically no demand.
With no off-take from Shantung, stocks of 120 deniers are accumulate ing, and dealers find it difficult to stabilize prices on a higher level.
However, with all these adverse! circumstances there is a little better feeling in the market.
