The Men of Paoshan a Tribute

To the Editor of the News"

Entrenched in brick-walled China town Were some six hundred men in all, Who stayed till every wall went down, Saw Paoshan completely fall.

With shells and bullets flying round, With dead and hopeless cases near, They still so bravely stood their ground, With not a faltering sign, or fear We match these men with those who fought At Balaklava long ago, Who just their country freedom, sought, And nothing else they seemed to know.

The men and women from everywhere Salute you, Men of Paoshan, You died a glorious death in theres} All worthy soldiers, to a man!
