B. & S. Accept Shipment to Northern Ports Holiday makers who set off for Tsingtao and other northern ports in the midst of the hot weather naturally did not anticipate that they would be "marooned" in the holiday resort when the weather began to cool off, and so did not take with them the appropriate clothing. In view of the large number of people at Tsingtao, Weihaiwei and Chefoo who are now in need of warmer clothes, Messrs. Butterfield & Swire, agents for the China Navigation Ca, are willing to accept a limited quantity of suitcases, trunks, ete, containing used clothing and personal necessities for shipment by their steamers Shengking and Shuntien.
These should be left between the hours of 9 and 10 a.m, on the day of sailing in the Customs Examination Shed, next to the offices of Messrs. Butterfield & Swire on the French Bund. They will be delivered at their destination to the offices of the company's agents. A nominal charge of $1 per suitcase and $2 per trunk will be made to cover handling charges and boat or truck hire. Baggage is liable to customs examination, snd must on no account contain dutiable articles.
