In transmitting the annual budget to Congress President Coolidge estimated that the total expenditures for the next fiscal year will be $8,404,222,908 and that receipts will be §8,824,590,203, leaving a surplus of approximately $830,300, 000, and that that surplus will enable taxes to be materially reduced. With such being the case there does not appear to be much chance that Congress will want to call too strongly on taxes from any Americans who happen to be living in China or elsewhere outside the:
United States.
