Nanking, Oct. 22.
Three Chinese delegates to the Brussels conference of the Nine-Power Treaty were announced to-day by the National Government. They are Dr, Wellington Koo, Ambassador to France; Mr. Quo Tai-chi, Ambassador to the Court of St. James, and Dr. Chien Tai, Ambassador to Belgium.—Central News.
The "Asahi" which had previously advocated conditional participation in the conference, said editorially today that it was disappointed over the terms of the invitation, "in its failure to dispel the general misgiving that the conference is being convoked in accordance with the resolution of the League of Nations, which condemned Japan's action in China; and failure to respect or consider Japan's policy that the Sino-Japanese question be settled directly between the two nations concerned, without the intervention of a third party."
It Japan accepts, the "Asahi" declared, she will play "into China's hands and will repeat the bitter experience of the triple intervention following the Sino-Japanese war of 1894-95. Moreover, the situation in the Far East will be further com. plicated, with the interests of various Powers injected into the picture."—Domei.
The Note, Domei learned authoritatively was closely scrutinized by high Gaimusho officials, The Cabinet's final attitude is generally expected to be made at its meeting on Oct. 26.
