The American schoo! might be aid to be the centre of the winter community, most of the members of which gather at the various entertainments given by the school. Recently the English classes under the Melent tutelage of Miss Baker gave a very enjoyable play called "Sil-lionettes of Lincoln." This was par-tally written by the pupils themselves and partially adapted from Drinkwater's "Lincoln." Tt was excelently done and thrilled the American part df the audience, so authentically did the play show the poignant struggle of Lincoln to. preserve the Union and to keep the Civil War from savagery. Specially notable was the acting' of Newton Steward as Lincoln, Trumbull Huntington as Grant and Merwin Haskell as Lee.

The school orchestras, both senior and junior, have recently given concerts, that of the seniors last Sunday night delighting quite a large audience of the school and community.
