No Hoarding

The present food shortage and prevailing high prices have greatly perturbed housewives, and particularly whose who have young and hungry families to cater for, My cook has advised me to "ea chee plenty just. now, because by ud-by may be no can catchee any something" That I have forbidden as it is a false line, Tt is known that a good deal of food-ħoarding has been done in Shanghai, and that, ie some extent, accounts for present high prices of goods of which there never has been shortage. We have the assurance of those in authority that the food question is receiving attention and panic and hoarding will help no one. Besides, the hoarders may be bitten by their own greed, for it is likely that, in the near future, with increased supplies coming in, prices will go down and our over-careful friends will then have something to sell—at lower prices than they paid.
