Fraser Shield Won by 9th (Junior School) Pack Once again, the Fraser Shield, presented for annual competition among the Wolf Cub packs of Shanghai, has been won by the 9th (Junior Sehiool) Pack, this pack repeating its vielory of last year at the twelfth annual Wolf Cub rally which was held on April 17 in the Mil ington Camp, 230 Hungjao Road. spite of Father threatening skies, the turn-out of cubs and spectators to the camp was a splendid one, and the boys put on 1 excellent show.
The total number of cubs who turned out to the rally numbered nearly one hundred aad sixty boys, and the (oral crowd of judges, parents, and other visitors probably brought that number up to nearly three hundred. Included among the Visitors, and attracting not a tittle attention themselves, were a troop smartly-clad Chinese Girl Guides, who attended in response to an invitation extended to them by Mfr. W. Cassels, the Con: missioner of Scouts.
Although the 9th Gunior Schooty Pack were over six points ahead of their nearest rivals, competition was very keen in all the events, and the general standard of eflieleney displayed by the various packs was commendable. Runners-up were the 5th. (Jewish) Pack, who. were also Second in the competition held last year, The competition started at 230 "in traditional Wl Cub fashion the "Grand How!" by all the packs, led by Senior Sixer Vantschurin, of the Sth (Junior School) Pack.
Mr. G. E. Marden, vice-president! of the" Boy. Scouis' Association (Shanghai Branch), then inspected the different packs and commented very favourably on their fine appearance. The events which follow ed, and which ranged from semaphore signalling to a tent raising, found the Oth (Junior School) Pack fairly consistent in their superiority throughout, with the Sth" (Jewish) Pack following very closely behind. In~ deed, had the (Jewish) Pack succeeded in winning the Anal event, s'medtay relay race, it would have {or them andthe coveted "raser meant top. place inthe competition
