Recently a revival of the New Life Movement has been observed on every hand. This morning the police were out In large groups very early and they quickly penetrated to the more "remote corners. of the city farmed with spades, brooms and accompanied by the wheel-barrow squad, Houscholders were required to appear forthwith, broom in hand, to join them in the spring cleaning.
The streets were crowded with students from the various schools in the city. They were very smartly rossed in their khaki uniforms and bhats; under the strict supervision of their teachers they attacked with vigour and alserity the various tasks of cleaning and sweeping allotted to them; within an incredible short time the deed was accomplished and they plosives. Their clothes and tempers re sure to suffer as progress is made.
Tt is now certain' that their frst main objective is Hanchung but the question is how. The work will probably take three years, but the first section over the Chingling to Tunghechiao should be finished in year and work is to. begin almost Immediately. The next point will be Tenghsien and Lianglang in Kansu. They may or may not take in Hueihsien before travelling to Hanchung.
