London, Jan. 5.
Although regretting the declarations of the Japanese Home Minister, Admiral Suetsugu, well informed circles here stress the fact that the interview was given out before the Admiral became Minister, and consequently consider that the declarations must not hinder an improvement in Anglo-Japanese relations and will not result in a diplomatic demarche, It is believed that the indifference of British official circles is explained by the fact that on the d of publication of the Admiral's declaration, the Japanese authorities told the Briish Government that the interview represented purely the personal opinion of Admiral Suetsugu,: which was entirely different from that of the Japanese Government.
