South Africa has more than enough room {or new blood in in-destroy, but especially in farming. In this, the southern portion of the great African continent, we have a small population of only two million Europeans, the mainstay of which is the gold mines of the Witwatersrand, writes Conan Griffiths in the 1820."

Farming, if properly carried out. can also become a great, if not a supreme, stay in the economics of South Africa and the Rhodesias, but in order to prepare {or this contingency we must secure the services of good embryo farmers.

The best type of immigrant is the Fard-working and conscientious one, also he who has sufficient capital to start an enterprise. But those immigrants who come out here to t&ke up farming must, of necessity. go to a "school" such as the Tarka Bridge Training Farm, established by the 1820 Settlers Association, to study the idiosyncrasies of farming conditions peculiar to the country. Without such knowledge, the newcomer to South Africa will very soon find himself in difficulties.
