With the knowledge that men are regrettably conservative in matters of dress, it is surprising to note from these photographs that a great change has taken place in the fashioning of their garments, Obviously though, the men were further removed from good tailors than were the women from good dressmakers. There was not the adherence to good line which one notices to-day, while "froos" hung frightfully badly, and were like nothing so much as drain pipes iù shape. Coats, which buttoned with five buttons nearly to the chin, Jacked present day moulding, and less attention apparently was given to shoulders and collars than is the case now. Still, numbers of our present day elderly men were remarkably good looking around 1906, and modern daughters who have been known to exclaim" I don't know what Mothef could have seen in Father to wish to marry him," would find the answer if they saw these pictures of their male pr niters in days long before Young Mississie was thought of. Mind, I would not for the world suggest that the handsome youths have not developed into pleasant looking elderly men, but, to be frank, they have not worn so well as have their wives ahd sweethearts, which seems to dispel the theory once held, that women age quicker than men.
