Stockholm, Jan. 30. A China Assistance Committee has been formed in this city and an appeal has been issued to the general public. The chairman of the committee is Professor of Theology Knut Westmann, and the members include Archbishop Eidem, Bishop Aulen, the famous Asiatic explorer, Dr. Sven Hedin, the Chancellor of the Stockholm University, Dr. Unden, and the director of the Swedish Post Office Department, Dr. Oerne.
It is regarded as likely that the formation of the committee is the outcome of conferences held by the close collaborator of Lord Cecil, Mr. Arnold Forster, with outstanding Swedish personages—Trans-Ocean.
