Germany Insists on

ANSCHLUSS

London Observers Fearful of Complications London, Mar. 2.

The German Foreign Minister, Herr Joachim. von Ribbentrop, will not come to London before the "Anschluss" is achieved, observers here stated to-day.

They declared that the recent interviews held between Sir Nevile Henderson, British Ambassador to Germany and various German: offcials proved that it was' impossible to open Anglo-German negotiations conjunction with the: forthcoming. Anglo-Italian talks, Because: Germany insists upon a discussion of the colonial problem, while the British experts have not drafted' any workable colonial plan.

Observers here are deeply concerned over the recent Nazi agitation in the Austrian province of Styria, connecting this with the statement. made yesterday by Marshal Hermann Goering, Reich Aviation: Minister, that the German air force is ready to fulfill the Fuehrer's Germans living abroad.

Serious. tension. in Europe is feared. unless the forthcoming Anglo-Italian talks relax the situation, Trance wes given assurances: that she would be consulted before any negotiations open between Britain and Germany, during.an interview to-day between Lord Halifax, Foreign Secretary, and M. Charles Corbin, French Ambassador to the Court of St. James.

Lord Halifax is understood to: have also explained that Britain does not wish to make any demarche to. Berlin concerning the recent events in- Austria until Italy's ate titude on the matter is cleared. up.—
