A trim little red cabin monoplane hovered over "the Race Course on August 13, came down for Janding, and then turned turtle on the Polo Ground. Huge crowds lined the Bubbling Well Road and speculate fed on the identity of the machine, while two fre engines and an ambbulance "hhurtied to the scene. The plane was righted, and the American pilot and his mechanic emerged. The pilot was Mr. L. A. Lewis, Far East ern manager of United Aircraft Exports Corporation, the mechanic a Mr. R. D.
