Paris, Mar. 20.
During the week under review, the Paris Bourse suffered a serious' setback as a result of the turn for the worse taken by the international situation following Herr Hitler's coup in Austria.
Most of the world markets, including Wall Street and Amsterdam. cracked on the reports of the annexation of Austria.
Furthermore, the Bourse here was affected by domestic matters such as M. Blum's failure to form a National Union Cabinet.
The market opened extremely weak on Monday morning following the Austrian events and continued slipping throughout the day.
A slightly better feeling developed on Tuesday owing to reports that a National Union Cabinet would be formed in France.
On Wednesday, the market cracked sharply due to ihe weakness of the London Stock Exchange.
The Bourse was characterized on Thursday by a recovery in French counters following renewed confid-cree in the formation of a National Union government.
This was followed by further weakness on the next day resulting from M. Blum's failure to form such a Cabinet.
Comparing this week's closing prices with those of the previous seven day period, it may be noted that French counters showed more resistance than Internationals, Rentes dropped on an average of of a point only, while Internationals cracked 5, 6, and even 7 points, including gold mines, Suez lost over Frs. 2,000 owing to concern over the Mediterranean problem,
