Shanghai, Apr. 21, The extreme congestion on the! Garden Bridge during rush periods: will, it is hoped, be more than re-Ueved when the Chapoo Road Bridge is opened at 11 'o'clock tomorrow morning (Friday).—Arrangements have been made for a speedy clearing away of the heavy barbed-wire feneing at present effectively cutting off all trafic across the bridge, which will remain open in fulure between 5 a.m. and 7 pam.
Between 7 pin. and am. the bridge will remain closed, as before. The only vehicles. which will be permitted to use the bridge will be motor: lorries and others containing Chinese workers in groups, with a foreigner in charge. All other vehicles will have to use either the Garden or Szechuen Road bridge as before, No restrictions, however, will placed on the use of the Chapoo Road bridge by pedestrians, oth foreignfers and Chinese carrying passes being able to use this bridge.
