Exhibition An unu: though none less highly successful function was held the new Assembly Hall of ihe ern District Public School yesterday, when scholars gave an exhibition of their various hobbies, The display was surprisingly good and provided a pleasing indication of how the Shanghai boy can ure hours. There wi altogether some 60 exhibitors, including some from the junior form:

Most spectacular were the d ings of typical Chinese personalities exhibited by H. E. Starling, recent winner of the St. George's Scholarship, who is shortly leaving for England to study at the Slade School of Art; and the oil paintings of A. L. Barrett who is going to continue his education in America. Both these boys have qualified for the final certificate of the Royal Drawing Society.

Among the working models, was a fleet of aeroplanes made by N. Some extraordinarily interesting specialized collections of stamps were shown by R. Hekking, B. Siemssen and A. Jouravel. It was obvious many hours of absorbing work had been devoted to the arrangement of these collections. Equally attractive were the collections of rare coins, especially those of Sopher and D. Kliene.
