In view of the new Empire's Five-Year plan of industrial development, the "Asahi" said, there is every indication that its purchases of German goods will be well in excess of limits set.
Japan last year purchased Y.- 115,000,000 worth of German goods, selling to the Reich ¥.35,000,000 worth of miscellaneous merchandise. In the first seven months of this year, Japan bought German goods valued at '¥.120,000,000, while Germany's purchases in this country have also been Y.5000,000 over the amount for the corresponding period of last year.
This growing trade, the "Asahi said, makes it only natural that they should negotiate a new agreement to "cope with the new situation."
The journal believes the annual maximum exports of Manchurian goods to Germany should reach ¥.200,000,000, or double present figures if Berlin grants the new Empire credits of Y.100,000,000.
