Recs' Narrow Escape

The Recs, had a left-off when offside held up Petterson after Schultz had beaten three Recs. players, the centre having only the keeper to beat. This decision did not meet with the approval of the Saints supporters who, however, appeared to forgive the referee when he penalize ed Tommy Aldeguar shortly afterwards for being off-side.

The nearest either side went to scoring was in the 35th, minute when Hutchison, running in to meet an Aldeguar, cross headed the ball against the inside of the post to see it rebound into play. Allan, who was injured at this point, left' the field and Symons dropped back. The School continued to make fast raids, the half backs and backs sending the ball via the air instead of along the ground thus falling easy preys to the Recs, defenders, Haltime arrived with no goals having been scored, Foyn who although hampered by Lee shot and scored.

Schultz sent Wailey away. The winger, beating Madar, sent the ball to his inside man who was covered by Bulldeath, who conceded a corner to hold up the inside man. Then Foyn sent in a fast drive which Eichoff held with difficulty. Bulldeath conceded a corner, and Foyn sent over a good ball which resulted in a scramble: in front of the Recs, goal Eichoff gaining possession, to clear. The game ended with the Saints pressing.
