Quick Goals

Immediately on changing over, Wales rushed the Scottish defence out of their feet, and in the fourth minute Morris put the Welshmen two up following a misunderstanding between the backs.

The lead was almost increased a minute later. Wales were undoubtedly superior, apart from passing.

The Scots rallied, but the Welsh backs were very sound. Hanford was playing an excellent game at centre half. Scotland persisted with close passing, which was unavailing against quick and fierce tackling. Phillips next went off injured, and soon afterwards Massie, from a free kick, scored.

With 20 minutes more to go, Scotland made desperate efforts to get the equaliser, but their opponents held on grimly, although playing with 10 men.
