To the Editor of the "Norru Cuma Dalny News"
Sim—Kindly permit me to correct the Domei news agency report appearing in your issue of November 12 unaer the caption of "Taiyuan Britons Victimized," The report states inter alia that Dr. Bloom had been a prisoner for more than a week prior to November 2, As a matter of fact the writer dined with Dr, Bloom and Dr, Wyatt on October and can assure their numerous friends and ex-patients that both these gentlemen were in the best of health and spirits, The report also mentions children being bound, presumably referring to children of these British doctors. The families of both doctors were evacuated to points outside Shansi Province some time previously, It is to be regretted that the report was published, as owing to the breakdown of postal and telegraphic communication with Taiyuan, much distress may have been caused the families and friends of the doctors concerned, should your paper have come into their hands, Mr, Jack Bolden, United Press correspondent, assured me that all members of the English Baptist Mission in Taiyuan were perfectly well on November 6, and carrying on the splendid work of ministering io the victims of the aerial bombing that has been a feature of the undeclared war in Shansi for some weeks prior to the date on. which the alleged interview with, Dr, Bloom took place, Pater F.
