BERLIN BOURSE

Berlin, Jan. 5.

The upward movement continued to prevail on the share market to-day and the opening prices were for the most part above the closing levels of the preceding day. Investors were very active and showed preference for representative securities. It would appear that the demand for new capital has now been largely covered, There were several purchases of foreign account but this had the effect of retarding rather than encouraging the upward movement. The general cheerful tone spread to several issues that had been somewhat neglected of late, notably mining shares. There was a further climb in prices in Har-burger Rubber which soared as much as three points and textiles, notably Bembergs.

Call money stood at 3 to 3% per cent.—Trans-Ocean,
