Former Aimbassador to China Arrives in London London, Jan. 3.
Sir Hughe Knatchbull-Hugessen, former British Ambassador to China, who was seriously wounded by Japanese aeroplanes when driving from Nanking to Shanghai last summer, arrived in London to-day with Lady Knatchbull-Hugessen.
"I am very fit" he declared when interviewed by Reuter. "I think I quite recovered," he added.
Sir Hughe Knatehbull-Hugessen was met on his arrival by, many distinguished personages, including Baron Tomii, Counsellor of the Japanese Embassy here.
Sir Archibald John Clark Kerr, who was recently appointed Ambassador to China, is expected to leave Baghdad, where he has been Ambassador since 1935, shortly for London.
He will remain in London for a few days, in order to study his brief, before proceeding to China.
The appointment of Sir Archibald Clark Kerr followed a decision by the Foreign Office that, owing to recent events in the Far East and the uncertainty as to the actual date by which Sir Hughe Knatchbull-Huges-sen would be fit to return to duty, the latter should not return to China tut should be recommended for ap-Pointment to another post in due course.—Reuter,
