Indianapolis, Sept. 24.
Rear-Admiral William S. Sims, retired, commander in European' waters of American naval operations up to the end of the World War, sent a letter to-day to Commander. Johnson of the American Legion resigning as an honorary member of the Legion because of the organisation's action in demanding immediate cash payment of the bonus "at a time of national distress,"
Commander Johnson promptly issued a denial that Admiral Sims was an honorary member, and scored the resignation as a "publicity stunt."——United Press.
