The fire occurred at the rear of the Home for Aged Russian Families, and in spite of the terrific heat and acrid fumes from burning wood and coal, no one was injured.
The pictures show a general view of the yard after the flames had worked their havoc, with firemen playing their hoses in respirators owing to the fumes.
