Mails To India

London, Feb. 23.

A new stage in Empire communications was established to-day when the Imperial Airways flying-boat Centurion left Southampton for Karachi carrying, among other Empire mails, Canadian letters for India and the East, The new service, launched by Imperial Airways in conjunction with the British, Canadian and other Empire governments, provides that henceforth all first-class mails for India and the East from other parts of the Empire will be carried by ait without surcharge.

There will be four services every week—two terminating in India and two extending across India and Burma to Malaya. The service will be extended to Australia later in the year.—Reuter.
