Paris, Apr. 3.
The expense of feeding and sheltering the thousands of Spanish refugees who have fled into France before General Franco's advance is seriously embarrassing the French authorities. Many of the refugees have been found to be in need of medical attention. Thousands more are expected to flood into France in the near future. The Government has already asked the Non-Intervention Committee whether the Powers concerned in the Non-Intervention scheme are prepared to share the cost of providing for these refugees with France. As yet, however, no favourable reply has been received.—Reuter.
