Peiping, Dec. 16. The Tientsin Maritime Customs has already put into effect the ci control measures announced by "Provisional Government" some weeks ago, and no cotton is allowed to be exported unless exporters produce permits granted by the Ministry of Industries, according to the Yung Pao.
Under instructions from the "Provisional Government," the Customs authorities in Tientsin are keeping a close watch over cotton smuggling. Smugglers are liable to imprisonment of not more than three years or a fine of not more than $10,000, states the same paper.—Reuter.
