Considerable uncertainty continues to shroud the situation at Chapoo where foreigners and Chinese were recently ordered to evacuate owing to the construction of fortifications the hills and access to the beach being denied.
The "North-China Herald" learnt on Tuesday (July $1) that in view of the uncertainty the Automobile Club of China has suspended building opera-ions on the new clubhouse there.
Suspension of operations started on Saturday and no further work will be carried out until the situation clarifies.
