Wang Ching-wei Agreement With Japan Exposed

Chungking Newspaper Story Causes Sensation Peace at $3,000,000 a Month Alleged Sought

Chungking, Apr. 5. UEEICATION of details of an alleged "secret agreement" between Mr. Wang Ching-wei, former President of the Executive tuan, and Baron Hiranuma, Japanese Prime Minister, has caused sensation, and at the same time profoundly shocked Chinese circles here.

The fact of the publication of the report alone is worthy of considerable attention, since hitherto the Chinese Central Government authorities, in the hope that he would eventually be persuaded to abandon his peace policy and return to the fold of: he Kuomintang, had issued the strictest orders banning publication of any news dispatches and comments attacking Mr. Wang Ching-wei.

The fact that the press ben ha-been lifted, allowing publication of the story, clearly shows that the Cer tral Government has definitely aban doned all hopes of a change in attitude on his part. This indicates that there is no further possibility of ce-operation between Mr. Wang ^Ching-wei and the Central Government.

Reuter understands that many recent developments have resulted in a change of attitude on the part of the Government towards him.
