'The Shanghai Second' Special District Court has jurisdiction only over crimes committed within the French Concession, according to a ruling! made by the Judicial Yuan in response to a petition of the said court secking an interpretation.
According to Article 4 of the "Arrangement for the Establishment of Chinese Courts of Justice in the French Concession at Shanghai," the ruling points out, the power of prosecution of the Concession author!- tes and the right of private proseeuton of the, Concesien ™ authorities right of private prosecution by the injured party is limited 10] crimes arising within the territorial Jurisdiction of the court in question.
