The fourteenth annual general meeting of the Gordon (Malaya) Rubber Estates, Lid, was held last month at 19 Fenchurch Street, London, EC.
Sir Francis Voules, C.B.E. chairman), who presided, sai men, our restricted crop for 1936 amounted to 1,522,401 pounds, a slight decrease when compared with the 1,685,488 Ib. we harvested in 1935.
Including a small proportion of low grade rubber, realized locally without coupon, the average price realized for our crop was equivalent to 831d. per pound London landed terms, as against 621d. per pound ior the previous year. As formerly, a proportion of the output was sold in liquid latex form which, although increasing cost, gives us a higher return per pound, which more than compensates for the increase in production cost as compared with sheet rubber.
