China Has Plenty of Credit Abroad

Manila, Oct. 14

Another sudden change was made in the plans of Dr. H. H. Kung, Chinese Minister of Finance.

Enveloped in an atmosphere of absolute secrecy, Dr. Kung left for Hongkong by air this morning, having specially chartered—the Hongkong Clipper for the trip.

It is learned: that the flying-boat was forced to return after the first start owing to bad weather, but it Berlin Oct. 14.

The Duke of Windsor yesterday visited Kroessinsee in Pomerania and inspected the training school for National Socialist leaders. On the motor journey to Kroessinsee the Duke was informed of the Nazi road policy as seen in the example of the Reich motor road from Berlin to Stettin, by the leader of the German Labour Front, Dr. Robert Ley.

At the gate of the Kroessinsee Castle the Duke was heartily greeted by detachments of young National Socialists undergoing training courses for leadership in the castle built after the pattern of castles of medieval orders of knighthood. The Duke engaged in an informal conversation with the young men.

The return journey to Berlin was made by aeroplane and the Duke spent a part of the flight in the pilot's cabin.—Trans-Ocean. subsequently took off again.

The sudden departure of the Chinese Minister came as a great surprise, as only last night it was announced that he would remain in Manila until Saturday as the guest of the President, Sr. Manuel Quezon.
