Fine bowling was seen last night in the Interclub Duckpins League when both the Foreign Y.M.C.A. and the Fourth Marines blanketed the Columbia Country Club and the American Club in straight games by ihe respectives scores of 1,568-1,496 and 1,569-1,408.
Ramsey of the Marines chalked up the highest individual single and triple marks as he scored 148 in his first game to help a total of 357 pinfalls.—Moseler of the "Y" came close behind with 343.
Both winners had a fairly easy time in overcoming their opponents. However, as ihe Columbians were considered to be quite a strong team, do not desire to add anything at this moment about this claim so far as it concerns Germany and ourselves, but I must declare plainly that we do not admit the right of any government to call upon us for a contribution when there is no evidence to show that that government are prepared to make any contribution on their own part."
Mr. Eden made it clear that his words did not affect relations between Germany and Great Britain.
