It was estimated locally that a total of 161.700 bags of flour was exported between July 11 and July 13, and consequently wheat and flour prices kept a steady upward trend. Prices quoted on the local exchanges were regulated by the authorities, and very little business was reported. Of the quantity of flour exported, 142,100 bags went to Tientsin, 18,000 bags to Chinwangtao, 1,100 bags to Tsingtao, and 500 bags to Weihaiwei A large quantity of rice wi also reported to have been exported to ports in the past few day On July 14, over 20,000 bags were purchased here for the north.
At meeting ci cereal merchants, sures similar to those enforced by the merchants were adopted.
The embargo on wheat has already been enforce by the Government.
