Of Capital

Washington, Nov. 8.

Mr. Henry Morgenthau, Secretary of the Treasury, announced to-day that $10,250,000 worth of gold would be shipped to France aboard the Nor-manche on Wednesday Hitherto, the Treasury's stabilisation fund, he declared, had met the outward movement of capital by release ing earmarked gold, but this device had now been exhausted and the actual shipment of gold was necessary, The exodus of gold, however, Mr. Morgenthau added, should not affect America's economy, since it would be "cushioned" by the Government's fund of sterilized gold—Reuters American Service.
