Holy Trinity Cathedral, at Mattins on Dec. 11 dipr—Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. St. Matt N reading over the constitutions of the B. W. A., I see that there is one object only "to unite British women in the social service of the empire, and of the community," and the text I have chosen suggests the only way of carrying out a single object, and that is by a single-minded attitude to life—an attitude of service to God which expresses itself in service to one's fellow men.
The single-minded service of God may be seriously impaired by a lack of faith, or as the verse before my text has it, by an attitude of anxious care.
The Greek word signifies a divided mind, which prevents one from attending proper! duties and daily obligations.
St. James said, "A double or distracted minded man is unstable in his 5, and certainly the object of the B. W. A. cannot possibly be carried out by persons sutlering from distracted minds.
Nor can the daily routine claims on one's affactions and sympathy be met by anyone in that condition.
Two years ago I read a delightful little book which expressed in very simple yet challenging words, the application of my text to everyday life. It was entitled "Be kind to yourself," "which might sound rather selfish attitude to life; but when we examine that attitude and take it to its conclusion, we shall see that the results are far from selfish Think of the text "Seek ye first the kingdom of God," something for yourself, but the obtaining of which carries with it the promise "All the: other things shall be added to you." Power to serve your fellow men, power to be unselfish, peace of mind which enables you to be truly altruistic. ut economist John Stuart n proportion to the d his own personality each person becomes more valuable to himself, and is therefore capable of being more valuable to oth There is a greater fulness of life bout his own existence and when e is more life in the units, there more life in the which is composed of them."
