Helsingfors, Nov. 16.
Finland has the economic resources to withstand Soviet pressure for a Jong time, M. Julio Paasikivi, head of the Finnish delegation to Moscow told the press last night.
"Finland is well armed financially to withstand a crisis for a long time, he said. The former Foreign Minis—ter made the statement in answer to the assertion of the Soviet official mews agency, Tass, that Finland would soon capitulate on account of economic difficulties. He discounted the possibility of Soviet Navy interference with Finnish trade.
The leader of the Finnish delegation said the situation resembled the Russo-Turkish outlook. He explained that during the Russo-Finnish talks a friendly agreement had been reached on many points, but said the con-forees had decided to consider the problem as a unit—several points could not be solved and "since then the affair has reverted to the status quo."—United Press.
